Built in 1956 as a Convair CV440-47 and delivered to National Airlines as N2043 on 29 Jun 1956. To Allegheny Airlines on 01 Oct 1962. Converted to a CV580 in Feb 66 and re-delivered to Allegheny Airlines as N5808. To Aspen Airways on 09 Dec 1977. Leased to Air New Zealand in May 1978 and returned to Aspen in Oct 1978.
