This aircraft joined the Aeroflot fleet in January 1991. It had previously flown with Interflug as DDR-SEL. It fell victim to a Boeing 747-400 at Anchorage on 11 November 1998, when the wingtip of HL7414 of Asiana collided with the fin of the Il-62 and sliced into it, causing serious damage.
