Ex G-AHOT of BEA. Protea Airways was a subsidiary of Trek Airways. The aircraft is currently stored in the SAA Technical section awaiting restoration. It was displayed 1963-1987 on filling station "Vics Viking Garage" S of Johannesburg. It was exchanged in a 3-way transaction to SAA (SAA gave a Lockheed Lodestar to the SAAF the SAAF gave an Avro Shackleton to the Garage Owner who gave the Viking to SAA) This photo is copyright © Les Vowles, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
