Several autogyros were built by different manufacturers in the UK. The C.24 was the de Havilland version and was in fact the only rotorcraft ever produced by the company, It was built in secret at Hatfield and first flown by Juan de la Cierva himself at Stag Lane in 1931. The frame was acquired by the Science Museum in 1974 and is on loan to the Centre. This photo is copyright © Alastair T. Gardiner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
