The Vampire was De Havilland's first jet aircraft and the FB.6 was the fighter-bomber variant. This example is one of the 175 Vampire FB.6 aircraft built at Hatfield in 1949 and supplied to the Swiss. The plane was donated to the museum in 1974 and restored in 1994.
