VH-DZL is an Australian conversion of a Cessna 182D into a taildragger that also involved replacing the tail with that from a Cessna 180. 182Ds had swept fins but not the rear cabin window of the later models, making DZL appear identical to a 180. The conversion took place after -DZL crashed in 1973 at Wilton, a skydiving centre in Sydney's south-western outskirts. It flew for the first time in its new configuration in 1980.
