The aircraft was withdrawn from RAF service in April 1989 and sent to No 1 School of Technical Training, (SoTT), at RAF Halton for use as an engineering instructional airframe. It was one of a number of airframes declared surplus and put out for disposal in the early 1990s when the SoTT moved to RAF Cosford. It is currently, April 2024, displayed on the roof of a garage at Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, West Midlands, UK.
