Delivered as 43-48716 in 1944 it flew resupply missions from RAF Welford, UK, and Bretigny, France, including during the Battle of the Bulge and Operation Varsity. Post war it was converted as a VC-47D and passed to the US Army in April 1972, before being retired to MASDC at Tucson in 1974. It was acquired by Lee County Mosquito Control District in 1975 and registered N836M. Its Mosquito Control career over it was sold to the Air Heritage Aviation Museum at Beaver County Airport, PA., and has been restored to airworthiness in wartime markings carrying its original name "Luck of the Irish".
