With 4208 in the tail, but on the fuselage on the other side you can still clearly ssee the remains of B-4208. This IL-14 is now part of the indoor display at the CAAC Museum in Beijing. The airplane was a gift from the Soviet Union to China in 1956, and was used as a back up plane for government flights normally operated by 4202. Research has shown that Chairman Mao flew on this plane several times in 1957. It was transferred to Zhongyuan Airlines in 1986, who operated it until aprox 1992. It was preserved at the airlines office in Zhengzhou before being taken to the CAAC museum in 2006 This photo is copyright © Streep, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
