EE602 completed over 100 missions including escorting the famous B-17 'Memphis Belle' back to the English coast while with 129 Sqdn. The name (carried on the other side) derives from wartime sponsorship - any organisation which raised over £5,000 could be acknowledged in this way. The Uruguayan railway company was run by British expats at the time. Now operated by Fighter Aviation Engineering from Duxford.
