From 28th February to 2nd March, 2005, Steve Fossett piloting this aircraft became the first person to fly nonstop, solo around the Earth, taking off from and returning to Salina, Kansas, in just over 67 hours. Now his plane is flying high once again in her retirement at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
