A DC-3 with a long history in Australia. Douglas C-47-DL 41-18660 was delivered to the USAAF's 5th AF Australia in November 1942 named 'Shanghai Lil' and was leased to ANA Australian National Airways in September 1944. On conversion to DC-3C in August 1946, it joined TAA Trans Australia Airlines and was reregistered VH-SBA in 1960. Eventually retired in 1974, it was placed on display at Melbourne Airport form 1979 to 1987 reverting to VH-AES, but was restored to flight in 1988 and joined HARS in 2016 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
