Built as a RC-135B by Boeing at Renton (WA), first flight on 27 January 1965 and delivered to the USAF on 2 September 1965. It was converted to a RC-135C and later to a RC-135U. During the Cold War, the spy plane was also serialled (64)-14850 and seen as such on 18 September 1976. The Combat Sent was reengined from old smokey TF33s to F108s and was also modified with a Boeing Air Refuelling Receiver (ARR) system by 2006.
