This T-33 was delivered to the 3645th Pilot Training Wing (ATC) at Laughlin AFB, TX in Dec, 1953. It also served with the 3575th Pilot Training Wing (ATC) at Vance AFB, OK from April, 1957 and then the 3320th Maintenance Support Group (ATC) at Amarillo AFB, TX from Jun 1964. It was converted to a GT-33A (ground instructional airframe) in Feb., 1965 but dropped from the inventory as surplus Jan 1966. Previously this Shooting Star was in the USAF History and Traditions Museum at Lackland AFB, TX but now welcomes visitors to the super Air Mobility Command Museum.
