Originally delivered to the USAAF as 43-6006 on 3rd April 1943. It crash landed at Summit, Alaska on 24th February 1944, and the wreckage was recovered in October 1977. This aircraft should really be described as a P-51A replica, because although parts of 43-6006 were used in the rebuild, it mostly consists of the fuselage components of P-51D N351D and the mainplane of an unidentified Mustang. The first post-restoration flight took place on 3rd July 1985. This photo is copyright © Chris England, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
