Brought to Australia straight off the production line to help sell War Bonds. Later used to train Qantas pilots to fly Lancastrians. The RAAF had two Lancasters in Australia when the war ended. A66-1 was scrapped and A66-2 (W4783), a 90-mission veteran known around the country as G for George, was preserved at the Australian War Memorial.
