Egypt operated a large number of Il-14s from 1955 onwards, up to as many as 70, the last serving until the early 1990s. This one is a star exhibit in the museum but is falsely marked as ١١٠١ (1101), which was shot down by an Israeli Meteor NF.13 over the Mediterranean in October 1956 during the Suez Crisis. It is thought in fact to be 1105. This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
