Cavok Air suffered a birdstrike on the left engine during the take off run on 29 July 2017. The take off was aborted after V1 at a speed of 220 km/h and the aircraft was unable to stop, and dropped of the end of runway 29. A detailed summary of the crash can be found on the Aviation Safety Network website. Now 7 years later the airplane still remains on the ground at Sao Tome. From this angle the ripped of cockpit and left outer wing can clearly be seen.
