This CF-100 was erected to commemerate the men & women who worked to assemble these aircraft between 1951 and 1958 locally in the Malton area near what is now Toronto Pearson International Airport. Interestingly, this aircraft carries the markings of 414 Squadron, this squadron saw action in world war 2 and despite various disbandings and different taskings over the years; settled in to fill the role of Electronic Warfare, The CF-100 joined this squadron in 1967, only being replaced in 1981 by the CC-177 (Dassault Falcon 20). The squadron remains active (2024) but is operated under a civilian contract to the defence contractor Top Aces, using Dornier Alpha Jets based out of the Gatineau Airport in Quebec.
