Painted to represent the original "Cripes A'Mighty" P-51D 44-14906 of the 328th FS, 352nd FG, 8th Air Force which was shot down by "friendly fire" over Langerwehe, Germany, on Christmas Day 1944. The pilot, Major George Preddy, an ace credited with 26.83 enemy air-to-air kills ranking him as the top P-51 ace of WWII, was killed. The true USAAF serial number of this airframe is 44-74813.
