Assigned to Taktische Aufklärungsfliegerstaffel 87 (TAFS-87). This MiG-21M is receiving some cockpit inspections by maintenance at the flightline of homebase Drewitz. Serial 616, was accepted by the NVA on 12 March 1969 and was transferred to the Luftwaffe as 23+01 on 3 October 1990. The aircraft was withdrawn from use in July 1991, transferred to Dresden and scrapped at that location on 24 February 1993.
