This rebuilt prototype of the classic Aerocar represented a revolutionary concept. Not only could it be readily converted from an aircraft to a roadworthy car, but its wings could be folded back along the sides of the detached fuselage and towed behind the car like a trailer. This meant that it did not need to leave its wings, tail and propeller at an airport for it to be driven on the road.
