Delivered to the RAF in July 1962, XP395 operated with 110 Sqdn in Borneo during the early 1960s in camouflage. Moving to 230 Sqdn, it was deployed from Odiham to Nicosia for the UN forces in Cyprus in the late 1960s. By 1974 it was in yellow SAR colours with 22 Sqdn 'A' Flt at Chivenor. On withdrawal in 1981, it was sent to 1 SoTT at Halton taking up 8674M. In 1997 it was bought by the BBC for use in the TV series '999 Life Savers' and was submerged in a quarry at Plympton, Devon marked as XJ729 (possibly boom from that flyable aircraft). Wreck said to have been at North Luffenham by 2019
