A licensed version of the French reconnaissance aircraft Salmson 2A2 from the end of World War I. The first Kawasaki-built prototype made its first flight on November 9, 1922. Up to 1000 aircrafts of this type were built in Japan, including 300 aircrafts produced by Kawasaki in Kakamigahara. This replica was built in 1995 based on surviving documents.
