Former Heeresflieger (German army aviation) base on an Autumn afternoon. The last of the CH-53s left in August 2018, a medical regiment moved into part of the barracks later. Last used by a local aeroclub, the field had been marked 'closed' on navigation maps for some time at the photo date. The 510 x 30 m (1673 x 98 ft) runway and adjacent large helipad were still marked as if operational though. The control tower is in the lower center of the frame.
