Re-using a registration previously allocated to a DC-8, this A310 was acquired by Pan Am in February 1986, having first been delivered to Kuwait Airways as 9K-AHJ in September 1984. When Pan Am closed down in late 1991 the aircraft was absorbed into the Delta fleet.
