One of two aircraft was used by AIRock Aerobatic Team, the first professional aerobatic team in Japan, established in 1996 by former JASDF fighter pilot Rock Iwasaki. The founder tragically died in the crash of a second Pitts during training on April 21, 2005. The team ceased operations in 2010 after structural problems were discovered in the aircraft shown in the photo.
