This magnificent amphibian arrived in the Netherlands in 1995, initially owned by Martin van Schie as C-FHHR, then N27311 and finally PH-PBY. It changed hands in May 2000, and following an extensive restoration this aircraft first flew again exactly a month before this photo was taken. It was painted in these Netherlands Navy colours three weeks later, and this photo shows its first public appearance as such. Unfortunately it suffered an engine failure on 21 April 2017, and was withdrawn from use. Repairs proved too expensive, and in 2018 it was decided to offer the aircraft for sale.
