Intended to be Winston Churchill's personal aircraft but he preferred the Avro York. AL504 was lost near the Azores on March 27, 1945 while crossing the Atlantic from the UK to Canada. Some floating debris located but there was no trace of the seven crew and seven VIP passengers.
