The CO-aircraft of the 159th FW has three kill markings below the cockpit, one for an Iraqi MiG-23 and two for Iraqi Su-22s, all of which were destroyed in January and February 1991, during operation Desert Storm, or the first Gulf War, which aimed at liberating Iraqi occupied Kuwait. The F-15C was then operated by the 58th TFS/33rd TFW. 33 years later, the aircraft was still going strong and participated in the Cruzex 2024 exercise, held at Natal AB in Brazil.
