Ordered by the USAAF as C-47A as 42-92521 but delivered to the US Navy as R4D-5 17135 in 1944. Re-designated as a C-47H in 1962 and to the Naval Arctic Research Laboratory as N9382 in 1971. Sold in 1977 and flew with several operators before ending its flying career in Florida with Pro Freight Cargo Services at Opa Locka. Sold to the Days Gone By Museum, Portland, TN in 2011 for preservation but the museum closed in 2022 and the aircraft was disassembled and towed to Portland Municipal Airport (LID) where it remains at time of upload.
