This special livery, derived from the Illinois state flag, is quite clever in that the flap track fairings (the underwing canoes) have been painted brown to resemble the wing feathers of the bald eagle. They show up particularly well from this angle at sunset. This particular aircraft has been retired by Southwest and now flies for Avelo as N707VL. The new Illinois One is a 737-800.
