This was a floatplane development of the Junkers J10 which was the production version of the Junkers J8. Only three J11s built. The Junkers factory was at Dessau, which is inland. This photo is at a coastal location. Testing of the aircraft included examination of its metal structure's resistance to corrosion in a salt water environment.
