Hurricane (category 3) Katarina hit the New Orleans area in 2005. Not only the wind, but also the floods caused severe damage and many casualties. Also the Jackson Barracks Museum suffered serious problems : the entire museum submerged under approx. 10 feet of water. Luckily all aircraft could be saved, but all were in desperate need of restoration : salt water is not good for aluminum.
