The armed version of the KT-1 trainer is designated KA-1. Twenty such green camouflaged light attack aircraft have been delivered to the 8th Fighter Wing, 237 Fighter squadron at Wonju. This Woong Bee was most probably delivered to the RoKAF in early 2006 and fulfills the Forward Airborne Controller (FAC) and Counter-Insurgency (COIN) role within the air force and fulfills the Forward Airborne Controller (FAC) and Counter-Insurgency (COIN) role within the air force.
