Interestingly this C-9 was first delivered as a civilian DC-9-32 to ATI - Aero Transporti Italiani in 1969 as I-ATIA. When acquired from McDonnell Douglas in 1985 it had already accumulated some 56,284 flight hours but was placed in service with VR-62 named "City of Mount Clemens". After conversion to C-9B (DC-9-32CF) in 1990, it was transferred to VR-46 in 1994 and named "City of Woodstock".
