This is one of the F-111Es that would have been familiar to British enthusiasts as it was based at RAF Upper Heyford with the 79th TFS/20th TFW from the mid-1970s. By 1979 it had been transferred to the 40th Flight Test Squadron here at Eglin, as shown in my photo here.
