Forner USAF 73-0900 was transferred to the US Navy in the mid-80s. It was first assigned to the NFWS Top Gun at NAS Miramar (CA) as 553, then moved to VFA-127 Cyclones (as pictured), first as NJ-720, then NJ-721. The Tiger flew east and was based at NAS Oceana (VA) as AD-11 with VF-43, then AD-37 with VF-45. It last assignment was AF-24 with VFC-13. It was stricken at Fallon on 5 January 2006 and became a gate guard, as AF-13 in VFC-13 colours. In the back-ground of this picture, F-5F 840456 can be seen in a hangar.
