Returning to Hawk Air's home base on Hawk Lake. Taken on charge new by the USAF in 1952 as 51-16557. Entered civilian life in Alaska as N2848D, the first Beaver on the US Civil Register. Imported to Canada in 1973. Joined Hawk Air in 1989. Destroyed in a sadly fatal accident on 11 July 2019. Power failed shortly after takeoff to the north east from Hawk Lake, likely due to fuel starvation. Stalled and crashed nose down, severing a power line and impacting beside an electricity sub-station in Hawk Junction immediately beyond the lake, with the loss of pilot and passenger.
