It's a rather bizarre feeling to see this huge apron and this terminal building in pristine condition, but completely empty. Ciudad Real airport, meant to be Madrid's second airport, never reach success and was only opened to commercial air traffic from the end of 2008 to 2012, before going bankrupt. It reopened however in 2019, but only for private flights or as a storage place.
