SCFA planned to restore the Connie and bring it to Switzerland to fly passengers on the European airshow circuit. The former USAF (54-4062, MASDC CK209, arr 31 May'78, dep 15 Oct'85) and Aerochago airplane was ferried from Santo Domingo to Avra Valley (AZ), where it arrived 7 Jan'01. Restoration was well underway in Aug'02 when the SCFA suspended efforts due to the FAA's decision not to issue a standard airworthiness certificate as the result of 9/11.
