Of the approx 450 helicopters / aircraft Air Methods operates accross the US for HEMS and air ambulance duties, some 15 helicopters are under contract with Mercy Air. Operating from 11 bases in California and 3 bases in Nevada, Mercy Air currently uses EC135, EC145, Bell 407, Bell 412 and Bell 429 helicopters.
