Taxiing for departure from Prestwick's Runway 31 after a fuel stop. On a seasonal flight from France to import fresh shellfish from Scotland's Western Isles. Still in its previous basic Air France colour scheme, with logos removed and titles replaced. Built as a C-47A-50-DL for the USAAF, 42-24279. Became F-BCYV in 1950 with Air France - Aviation Postale. Leased to Société Fretair in 1970. Entered service with Vargas Aviation in 1971. Joined Uni-Air from 1976 until 1978. Subsequently broken up. This photo is copyright © David A.
