This TBM was accepted from GM by the Navy in March 1945 and went on to serve at various Naval stations around the US until being placed in storage during April 1954. A civil career as a tanker followed, after which she was saved from the scrapman and underwent a long period of restoration. She was finally loaded onto the USS Midway during 2006 and is now on display on the Hangar Deck of this superb museum. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
