Delivered to the RCAF as Canso A 9746 in 1942. Sold as NC68741 in 1946 then N68741 in 1949. Converted to a SoCal Landseaire flying yacht, fitted with uprated P&W R1930-75s, seating for 17 pax, rear airstair passenger entrance and under-wing boats in 1954. Reregistered as N59D in 1956 then N5907 in 1958. Converted to the sole Bird Innovator : Innovator 2 Lycoming GSO-480 engines installed outboard of the P&W R-1830s andSuper Cat squared tailplane in 1967. Reregistered as N81RD in 1969, N5907 in 1976 then N5PY in 1991. Last flight to Aurora, OR in 1997. On long term restoration to a Canso.
