During a fine 4Aviation tour through Sri Lanka, this CJ-6 (a Chinese licence built Yak-18) was pictured at the platform of its homebase. The basic trainer is assigned to the 1 Flying Training Wing at China Bay. The wing is operating the K-8, PT-6A (CJ-6A), and Ce150. This CJ-6 was once known in the SLAF register as SBT-1601, but was reserialed to SBT-181 in early 2012. The aircraft was overhauled in 2016.
