Delivered to the US Navy as UF-1 137927 in 1955. Redesignated as an HU-16C in 1962. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in 1970. Sold to Grumman in 1981 and moved to the Allied Aircraft Sales yard. Restored to airworthy condition, registered as N9722B and flown out in 1985. Fully restored by 1987. Reregistered as N7927 in 2001. Current on the register in 2025.
