This aircraft was sadly destroyed in a fatal crash the day after this picture was taken, 20th August 1975. The Il-62 struck level ground at 605m asl. 17 km NE of Damascus International Airport (DAM), Syria on a flight from Prague. The aircraft broke up and caught fire. Only two passengers survived the accident. The probable cause could not be determined. (Courtesy ASN).
