Delivered to the US Navy as SNJ-5 51698. Sold and registered as N7986C in 1963. Converted to a Zero replica for the film Tora Tora Tora in 1968. To the EAA Aviation Foundation, Oshkosh WI in 1972 then to the Frasca Air Museum, Champaign-Frasca Field, IL in 1987. Current on the register with them in 2025.
