Delivered to the US Navy as TBM-3E 85983 in 1945. Converted to a TBM-3S. To the Royal Canadian Navy as 85983 in 1952. Converted to an Avenger AS.3 Mk.1 in 1953/4 then to an AS.3M. Struck off charge in 1958, sold and stored at Simsbury, CT. Registered as N4039A in 1964. Sold as CF-BEG in 1972 and converted to a fire bomber. Reregistered as C-FBEG in 1977. Sold as N28SF in 1985, converted to military configuration and painted in US Navy colours. Later marked as 85983. Current on the register in 2025.
